Progressive lenses represent a modern solution for correction of presbyopia (for users which correction requires different diopters for near and far vision). Aesthetically they are very nice because the passage between fields is not evident, as the power of the lens progress smoothly from one correction to the other. The period of adaptation is quite individual.
These lenses have a typical configuration of three fields:

1. Distance zone
2. Near zone
3. Intermediate corridor

With respect to the fitting, it is necessary that a vertical distance from the center of pupil to the lower edge of the frame is longer than stated fitting height, in order to enable the user with appropriate correction and adequate field of vision.
